Die Physiker
Murder in a psychiatric clinic. The culprit is quickly found: patient Ernst Heinrich Ernesti, alias “Einstein”, has strangled a nurse, after patient Herbert Georg Beutler, known as “Newton”, had already throttled her colleague. Both murderers are deemed not criminally responsible. But the series of murders does not end: the ward’s third “physicist”, Johann Wilhelm Möbius, will soon become a killer as well. Who is really “mad” here, and why are the three supposed “physicists” actually confined to the clinic?
Friedrich Dürrenmatt’s madcap comedy THE PHYSICISTS keeps the audience on the edge of their seats right up to its surprising final revelation. »
